Kybella ® is an individually tailored injectable treatment that permanently destroys fat cells under the chin (commonly referred to as “double chin”). The treatment leads to a more aesthetic appearance of the jaw, neck and profile.
Pre-treatment: In patients that bruise easily, it may be recommended to pre-treat with Arnica, a homeopathic medication that has been proven to minimize inflammation or bruising. It is advised to limit the consumption of alcohol and medications like aspirin or NSAIDs (like Advil, Aleve, Motrin, ibuprofen). This will decrease your risk of bruising from the procedure.
Do NOT stop medications that are recommended or prescribed by your health care provider(s) or without first discussing with Dandelion Medical Aesthetics’ Nurse Practitioner or nurse.
About your treatment:
It is recommended you plan to spend 45-60 minutes for your KYBELLA® treatment. Ice and topical numbing medication are utilized to minimize your discomfort, but it needs time to work. Additionally, great care is taken to ensure the best result when addressing your cosmetic concerns.
Estimated down time:
None, you will be able to return to your normal activities immediately following the procedure. You may experience “social down time” related to potential swelling and/or bruising. Swelling may last up to 10 days.
Post-treatment:
Continue Arnica, if necessary. Multiple treatments (up to 6) every 4 weeks may be necessary to achieve your desired result.
After a minimum of 2 treatments, your results and the recommended number of further treatments will be evaluated.
Results are permanent.
