Which Dermal Filler is Right For Me?

One of the most common questions at Dandelion Medical Aesthetics is "Which filler should I choose?" While you will always have a brief consultation before any procedure to choose the best product to reach your treatment goals, it's helpful to have a little information ahead of time to help you plan. Dandelion Medical Aesthetics exclusively offers the robust JUVEDERM family of dermal fillers. There are products that address very specific concerns as well as products that can be used in multiple areas of the face. In many cases, more than a single syringe of filler may be necessary to reach your cosmetic goals.

JUVEDERM ULTRA XC

Ultra is indicated for the lips. Generally, it is first injected into the border of the lips to make the lips more defined and then injected into the body of the lip to make the lips fuller and plumper. JUVEDERM Ultra is expected to last 6–12 months.

JUVEDERM ULTRA PLUS XC

Ultra Plus can be used in multiple areas of the face: the cheeks, the nasolabial folds, lines extending down the chin from the corners of the mouth (marionette lines), and the lips. Ultra Plus allows for total facial rejuvenation. The consistency is more comparable to pudding and therefore allows the face to move naturally without an overly augmented look. JUVEDERM Ultra Plus is a firmer dermal filler than JUVEDERM Ultra and is also expected to last 6–12 months.

VOLBELLA XC

Volbella is also indicated for the lips, specifically vertical lip lines (sometimes called "lipstick lines" or "smoker's lines"). It is a beautiful product that can be injected just under the skin without being seen to fill pesky vertical lines as well as add volume to the lips. Volbella is also the filler of choice when filling the hollows beneath the eyes, often referred to as the "tear trough." Volbella can be purchased in 0.5 mL syringes for subtle results or 1.0 mL syringes when more volume is desired. Results of Volbella last up to 12 months.

VOLLURE XC

After being available in Europe for many years as Volift, Vollure was approved by the FDA in March 2017 for use in the United States. It works very much the same as Ultra Plus but lasts much longer. Vollure's results remain consistent for up to 18 months.

VOLUMA XC

Voluma is best utilized in the mid-face, along the cheekbones. Voluma is the firmest of all dermal fillers -- just what you want over the cheekbones. Strategically filling the cheeks not only adds volume to the area, but also lifts laxity of the lower face including the nasolabial folds and the jowls. As the premier dermal filler, Voluma's results are expected to last up to two years.
