Can I use Botox® to prevent wrinkles?

I am asked this question so often and there are variable ideas on this topic. Some injectors feel there is no reason to treat a problem if it doesn’t exist. However, Botox® can in fact prevent wrinkles. Wrinkles between the brows and forehead as well as crow’s feet are caused by the muscles in those areas “folding” the skin into a wrinkle with facial expressions. Botox® stops or decreases this folding and therefore prevents the wrinkle from ever gaining any ground. Younger patients looking to prevent wrinkles are likely to need less Botox® with each treatment and need it less often. Strategic and conservative treatment is necessary to prevent an abnormally “frozen” or expressionless face.

Dandelion Medical Aesthetics exclusively offers the robust JUVÉDERM family of dermal fillers with products to address very specific concerns as well as products available to be used in multiple areas of the face. To clarify, “XC” indicates the filler has added lidocaine (the same medication used to numb the mouth at the dentist) to make the injection procedure more comfortable.
